Buga Sphere Symbols

An alphabet of emotion

Buga Sphere
Symbols

The Buga Sphere is an alphabet of 28 nuanced emotions that sentient beings throughout our galaxy experience and understand. These emotions are communicated via the quantum device of the heart. Heartfelt people with the capacity to experience these emotions will recognise them on sight and understand their message.

Each of these images also describes a physical law of the quantum universe. So as well as being the alphabet of emotions, they are the periodic table of the quantum concepts from which the universe is built. Alien civilisations understand these quantum laws — once again — through the heart; in this way each symbol communicates a concept of quantum physics using the carrier wave of emotion.

We use these symbols in the æntenna app — a system that allows people to experience communication from other worlds. Free download here.

These symbols have been copied from the Buga Sphere that came down in Colombia and has been studied extensively by physicists. For a full summary of what the Buga Sphere is, go here.

The author of this webpage is Hedley Cohan, an astronomer with 45 years’ experience and founder of æntenna.

The twenty-eight symbols

Each mark is rendered here in gold Japanese brush calligraphy — an interpretation of the engraving carried on the sphere. Beneath each one is the emotion it carries, and the quantum principle that emotion encodes. Read them slowly. They are meant to be felt before they are understood.

Buga Sphere symbol 02, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 02

Awe at the mystery of the expansion of the Universe. Respect for the unceasing continual unravelling of the ever expanding Universe.

Everything is expanding. It’s a constant and it is the spiritual recognition of where one is, and what one is witnessing.

Buga Sphere symbol 03, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 03

A stoic appreciation that Life is a journey. You are on a journey and nothing in the Universe progresses in straight line.

You come back to the same point, only relative to where you began, but the Universe itself has moved on.

Buga Sphere symbol 04, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 04

Consider other ideas. Respect an antithetical view. A sense of honouring any idea that sounds ridiculous.

There is a sense here of the emotion that the answer may seem elusive… but what is overlooked is the answer always in plain sight.

Things are actually simpler than we make them.

Buga Sphere symbol 05, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 05

Laughter at the dichotomy of your existence. A sense of the absurd irony of life and everything that happens.

You go through processes which are fun - but ultimately unnecessary - because everything comes back to the same point, the same principle.

Buga Sphere symbol 06, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 06

Focus on simplifying everything. You start with complexity and chaos all around you… you can only rise above it through the focussed discipline of simplifying. Simplifying is clarity. It’s a superpower.

Buga Sphere symbol 07, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 07

The appreciation of the journey as a full circle, through which the person passes through all realities and phases and expressions, before the journey completes by bringing the person back to the beginning…although there is no real beginning.

Buga Sphere symbol 08, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 08

The mystery of unknowable consequences. Be conscious there are effects of any action, which you are unlikely to appreciate now.

Be conscious: every act has reverberations of unintended consequences- things you may not ever consider or see.

The echo of your actions go on for a very long time in ways you did not foresee.

Buga Sphere symbol 09, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 09

The opposite of 08.

Confidence. Every act has a clear first order implication which you must know beforehand.

A second order and a third which is predictable… this is the opposite of the glyph 08 which speaks of the invisible consequence.

Buga Sphere symbol 10, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 10

The pattern repeats into the microcosm and the macrocosm.

Things replicate at smaller or larger scales… like ripples in a pond, but going in all dimensions.

Buga Sphere symbol 11, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 11

Calm sense of certainty in an unalterable fact.

A given. A law of the Universe. An unalterable proven factor in any equation. First Principles.

Buga Sphere symbol 12, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 12

A chain of steps that iterate into a direction that is the only obvious vector available given the pattern established at the beginning.

A sense of inevitable next step derived from a pattern that is the physics of this dimension.

Buga Sphere symbol 13, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 13

Certainty. The feeling of certainty. Or the requirement of certainty.

Buga Sphere symbol 16, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 16

The ephemeral nature of every movement. Know that no force of energy can continue in the same direction.

It will only be so for awhile, but only for awhile. It’s a small step. A component. A moving part. But only a constituent.

Buga Sphere symbol 18, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 18

Look within. Look outside yourself. It is the same pattern repeating.

You will see that pattern in the macro and understand it replicates in the micro and vice versa.

Buga Sphere symbol 19, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 19

Helping people with their direction. If you have discovered something useful, share it to others to help them.

Assistance. People moving in the same direction. A united endeavour or collaboration.

Buga Sphere symbol 20, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 20

This is complexity. Phenomena which is complex. A lack of clarity causing an imbalance in a system.

Clunky, ill-fitting motion.

Buga Sphere symbol 21, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 21

This is a warning. It means “don’t do this”.

There are proven consequences. This is a proven law of physics that this vector gives this result. It’s a sequence, the pattern of which leads to a known result.

Buga Sphere symbol 22, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 22

Love compassion empathy and nurture.

Buga Sphere symbol 23, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 23

Errors. Finding your path by finding what is not your path.

Learning from mistakes. The process of becoming demands you deviate, change direction and err.

That progress requires deviations in opposite directions. That development often requires the contractions that occur within the change of direction.

Buga Sphere symbol 24, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 24

The realisation that comes from having gone in the wrong direction. The value created by the process of having gone in an opposite direction… or the need to go in the opposite direction for a time to actually create the momentum in the desired direction.

It looks like you made a backward step, but instead the experience has brought you to new direction from where you started.

And now you can begin again the next step from this new place. It looks like you make a huge blunder but it was part of the process of what brought you here.

Buga Sphere symbol 25, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 25

Just let go. Constantly let go. Be prepared to let it go.

Don’t hold on to any thing, notion, belief, idea or plan. The state of mind where you are always ready to let it go.

Buga Sphere symbol 26, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 26

Start. Make the attempt. Dive in. Build something.

Complete it. Finish it.

Buga Sphere symbol 27, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 27

Offspring. The creative impulse which seeks to replicate itself.

The mother giving birth to the child.

Buga Sphere symbol 28, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 28

The contradiction of opposites. The internal nature of things containing their opposite expression. To know a thing is to know all its expressions including its opposite.

Buga Sphere symbol 29, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 29

Living in the question. Noting that one can never know everything… there is a mystery.

Around every fact. There is the knowable and the unknowable.

Buga Sphere symbol 30, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 30

There is a futility in attempting to follow a plan. Because a plan does not.

Allow for the inherent deviations within any vector. You can only plan a step, and then plan for the fact that deviation from that step to happen… but you cannot plan for what that deviation is.

Buga Sphere symbol 31, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 31

Note how everything is contained in something bigger.

Do not see a thing in its singularity but recognise it is contained in some thing greater, and, recognise that everything contains components of unseen things.

Buga Sphere symbol 32, rendered in gold Japanese brush calligraphy
Symbol 32

Hello. Assistance. Peace. Welcoming. Acknowledgement.

All about the Buga Sphere

The Buga Sphere is a metallic orb recovered near Buga, in the Valle del Cauca region of Colombia. It is roughly the size of a football, seamless to the eye, and unusually heavy for its size. Since its recovery it has been passed between private researchers, imaged, weighed, and examined by physicists and engineers, and it has been the subject of continuous public argument ever since.

What draws me to it is not the metal. It is the band of marks engraved around one pole of the sphere. There are a little over thirty individual strokes in that ring. Some forms repeat; some are compound, and can be read either as one mark or as two. The count you arrive at depends on where you decide one mark ends and the next begins. Twenty-eight distinct forms are presented on this page.

A background film on the sphere and the argument around it — “Scientists Successfully Decoded the Buga Sphere”, by the Ultra Mystic channel. It is included as an overview of the story so far, not as an endorsement of its conclusions; the readings on this page are my own.

What is actually known

  • The ring of marks is real, photographed, and consistent across the released images.
  • No museum, linguist or peer-reviewed study has published a decipherment of these marks.
  • Every translation circulating online is unsourced, machine-generated, or openly fictional.
  • One released photograph is missing a motif that appears in others, which is still unexplained.

What is offered here

This page is not an academic decipherment and does not pretend to be one. It is my reading — the work of an astronomer who has spent forty-five years looking at the sky and thinking about how a message between civilisations would actually have to work. My argument is simple. Language is local. Mathematics is less local. But emotion, felt in the body, is the one carrier that any sentient species with an interior life would share. If you wanted to transmit a physical law to a stranger across the galaxy, and you could not assume a shared tongue or a shared number base, you would encode the law inside the feeling it produces.

That is what I believe this ring is: a set of quantum principles, each bound to the emotion that principle creates in a being capable of feeling it. An alphabet of emotions, and at the same time a periodic table of quantum concepts. Read them and see whether they land in you.

About Hedley

Hedley Cohan is an astronomer with forty-five years of observation behind him, and the founder of æntenna.

His long interest is not in whether we are alone — he regards that question as settled by the numbers — but in the mechanics of contact. If a signal arrived, what form would it take, and would we be built to receive it? That question led him away from radio and toward the heart: to the idea that the human capacity for nuanced feeling is itself a receiver, and that a sufficiently old civilisation would transmit into it rather than into an antenna array.

The interpretations of the Buga Sphere symbols on this page, and the gold brush renderings that carry them, are his work.

The æntenna app

æntenna is a system for experiencing communication from other worlds. The symbols on this page are built into it: they are the vocabulary the app uses, and the app teaches you to feel them rather than to read them.

It is free to download.

Terms & conditions

Last updated 9 September 2026.

1. Who this applies to

These terms govern your use of this website and of the images and written interpretations published on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What is claimed, and what is not

The markings engraved on the Buga Sphere are not the property of the author. They are the markings of an object, and no copyright is claimed over the underlying marks themselves, over their shapes as they appear on the sphere, or over any photograph of the sphere taken by others.

What is claimed is everything made from them. Specifically, the author claims copyright in:

  • the gold Japanese brush-calligraphy renderings of each symbol published on this site, as original artistic works;
  • the written interpretation of each symbol — the emotion assigned to it and the quantum principle described — as original literary works;
  • the selection, ordering, numbering and arrangement of the twenty-eight symbols presented here, as a compilation;
  • the text, design, layout and code of this website.

These are creative interpretations. Redrawing a mark in a chosen calligraphic hand, and assigning it a meaning, is authorship, and it is that authorship which is protected — not the sphere.

3. What you may do

You may read, share links to, and quote briefly from this site for personal, educational, editorial or review purposes, provided you credit Hedley Cohan, aliensymbols.com and do not alter the meaning of what you quote.

4. What you may not do without written permission

  • Reproduce, redistribute or republish the gold symbol images, in whole or in part.
  • Use the images or interpretations commercially — including in merchandise, print, tattoo flash, NFTs, tokens, apparel, packaging, album art, or advertising.
  • Use the images or the written interpretations as training data for machine-learning or generative systems.
  • Present the interpretations as your own work, or as an established or academic translation.
  • Remove or obscure attribution, watermarks or metadata.

Licensing is available. Please ask.

5. Nature of the interpretations

The meanings given on this site are the author’s personal interpretation. They are not a peer-reviewed decipherment, and no academic or institutional body has endorsed them. No linguist, museum or peer-reviewed study has published a translation of the Buga Sphere markings. Nothing here should be relied upon as established fact, as scientific advice, or as medical, psychological or financial advice.
